Robert A. Ryan is a founding member of Knight & Ryan and an experienced Nevada litigator. For over a decade Mr. Ryan has successfully represented clients in high profile commercial and civil disputes involving millions of dollars and has extensive courtroom and trial experience. He assists all types of businesses from small, family-owned operations to publicly traded companies in all manner of disputes. His representation extends beyond the trial court level too, having participated extensively in the appeal process from writ petitions to appearing before the Nevada Supreme Court. By serving clients at all levels of a case, Mr. Ryan provides representation throughout the entire litigation process, providing needed focus and consistency, while saving clients the additional expense of hiring separate appellate counsel.

Mr. Ryan’s representation also extends beyond the courtroom. Whether assisting clients with the setup of new business ventures or aiding in corporate restructuring, Mr. Ryan helps his clients with all types of business transactions. In this regard, Mr. Ryan’s litigation experience provides unique insight into problems businesses may face and he uses this knowledge to guide his clients with the goal of minimizing risk and avoiding litigation in every area that can impact a business, from employment issues to contract negotiation.

Prior to forming Knight & Ryan, Mr. Ryan served as an associate attorney at Pisanelli Bice. As an associate at Pisanelli Bice, Mr. Ryan represented some of Nevada’s largest companies in complex commercial litigation cases, corporate governance disputes and other high stakes litigation. During that time, Mr. Ryan successfully worked to defend against or overturn several judgments, collectively saving his clients millions of dollars in potential liability.

Mr. Ryan obtained his JD from American University in Washington D.C. During law school, he was a part of the Marshall Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project at American University and taught constitutional law to inner-city high school students. His passion for assisting under-privileged children continues to this day as he provides pro bono services to the Children’s Attorney Project through the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada. The Project provides needed representation and a critical voice to children in the foster care system in Southern Nevada.
